How Do You Make Baked Mozzarella Cheese Sticks?

Mozzarella cheese sticks are a popular snack or appetizer. I’m fond of these because they are baked not fried. Not only that, but, being able to make them hours or a day before, frees up time before a party or get together. No messing with the hot oil. I feel they are healthier and taste a lot better too. In one of the small bowls, beat eggs and water. Put the 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour in another bowl. In the third bowl, or a zip lock plastic bag, combine the dry bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and black pepper. Coat the cheese sticks in flour, then dip them in the egg and water mixture. Now coat cheese sticks in bread crumb mixture. Repeat egg and bread crumb coating one more time. Place on an ungreased baking sheet, cover and chill for at least 4 hours or overnight. (Chilling the cheese sticks will help keep them from seeping). When you are ready to bake, drizzle with melted butter. Bake cheese sticks uncovered, at 400 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes. Allow to stand 3
