How Do You Make Banana Chips?

0

Banana chips are slices of banana that are either deep fried and/or dried and covered with sugar syrup or honey. The dried variety (without frying and just drying)is healthier and sweeter than the fried one because the fried one is usually very oily when they are done. The chips can also be made using plantain and are salty instead of sweet. Step 1 Cut bananas in diagonal slices 1/8 inch each or use a chip slicer. Step 2 If you are using salt and 1/4 tsp. of turmeric powder, place bananas in iced salted water for ten minutes. Step 3 Remove all the water from bowl and place bananas on a cloth to take out the excess moisture. Step 4 Heat up the oil so that it is almost burning but not yet, and fry bananas in coconut oil or vegetable oil in one layer for a minute or two or until they are crispy. Step 5 Take the chips out with a slotted spoon and place them on a napkin. Sprinkle with salt if you so desire. Step 6 If using the lemon juice, dip the bananas in the juice and place on a baking
