How Do You Make Banana Oatmeal Cookies?

0

These delicious glazed cookies, full of fruits and spices, come from the recipe collection of the Quaker Oatmeal Kitchens. This recipe makes 4 dozen cookies. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Cover cookie sheets with foil. Combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, ginger and nutmeg in a small bowl. Stir to mix and set aside. Beat 3/4 c. margarine or butter and sugar together until creamy. Add egg, banana and lemon peel and beat until all ingredients are blended. Slowly stir in flour mixture, mixing well. Add oats, raisins, nuts and dates, stirring until mixed. Drop batter by rounded tablespoons onto foil-covered cookie sheets. Bake 15 to 18 minutes, or until cookies are a light, golden brown but still soft. Remove cookies and foil from baking sheet, lifting both away from sheet. Cool cookies on foil. Combine 3 tbsp. softened butter or margarine, powdered sugar and milk to make glaze. Spoon some glaze over each cookie, letting it run down the sides. Cool glazed cookies completely and store
