How do you make bar tops with board games?
If you are planning to resurface or remodel the bar top of your commercial or residence bar, you should consider adding a theme, instead of the usual dull wood or expensive marble. You can add pizazz to your bar top at little cost using something you probably have hidden deep in your closets–board games. By replacing your bar top with carefully cut and arranged game boards, you can give you bar a whimsical theme and make use of those old, discarded playthings. Strip the bar top down to the bare plywood surface using the crowbar or by removing the screws if it is attached by screws. Lay the game boards, playing-side up, over the bare bar top. Place them in whatever arrangement you prefer, as long as they cover the entire surface. Cut the boards as needed to fit your unique bar shape. If the boards are too small to cover the bar entirely, then cut one board to cover bare spots. If your bar has contours or rounded ends, you will need to mark boards to fit those pieces onto the bar.
