Here’s a really nifty idea: Make chair pockets out of new pillowcases. Chair pockets are great for holding and organizing items like books, magazines, reading glasses, or just about anything. These are wonderful in a child’s room for keeping school books handy, for the sewing room to hold additional supplies and even for use with a beach chair to keep magazines, sunscreen and water bottles out of the sand. Take your pillowcase and turn it wrong side out. The size of the back of your chair will determine what size pillowcase you will need. Fold the pillowcase in half by folding the top or opening of the pillowcase down to meet the bottom. Get the corners even, and while holding the corners, shake it out to remove wrinkles and straighten. If needed, stitch up each side from the bottom edge to the top to adjust the width.
