Those ubiquitous clay pots available at any garden center can be turned into versatile canisters with a simple craft project with nearly unlimited possibilities. Clay pot canisters are cheap and can be styled anyway you can imagine. They can also be used in many different ways from purely functional to purely decorative. Decide how many clay pot canisters you would like of each size. Also decide if you want a set with matching sizes or if you would like one large, one medium and one small or any other combination you want. Purchase one clay saucer for each clay pot. Usually, the pot’s matching saucer will work for a lid. For example, a 6-inch pot can use a 6-inch saucer for a lid. However, put the saucer over the top of the pot in the store to make sure it’s a good fit. Paint the handle for the clay pot canister. You’ll need a handle to attach to the clay saucer lid.
