How Do You Make Crayon Paper Weights?
Here’s something fun to do with the kids during those long summer days. Gather some old crayons together and remove all of the wrappers. Use the knife to shave as much of the crayons into a fine powder as you can. It’s easier to put this into a bowl or small container than directly into the bottle itself. Once you have ground all of your crayons down use a sheet of paper to make a funnel into the bottle and pour the shavings in. Leave the bottle open and set it outside in the sun. It will take all day but eventually the crayons will melt. Place this in the refrigerator at the end of the day and let it cool for a couple of hours. Cut the bottle gently away from the hardened crayons and you have a paper weight that can double as a writing instrument if you need one in a pinch.
