How Do You Make Curves In GTK Radiant?

0

Complex shapes and other oddities used to be a very large obstacle for game developers to overcome. Most level editors would only allow angled shapes, which limited what could be put into the virtual environment. That was before GtkRadiant and its ability to draw complex, angled shapes in 3D. These curves are called “Bevels”. Open Radiant. Open your map by clicking on “File” then on “Open” and selecting your .MAP file. Draw a brush in the 2 dimensional window. The size of the brush doesnt matter. Select the brush, go to the curves menu and select “Bevel”. Your brush will now transform into a curve that is whats known as a “Bevel”. It is very easy to manipulate. For example, hitting the “V” key will bring up points on the curve. By dragging the points with the mouse, you can custom fabricate nearly any basic shape. Also, the curve will behave like a normal brush, so using the axis-flip and cloning functions of the editor allow the author further design options.
