How Do You Make Custom Decorative Pillows?
Everybody loves decorative pillows. Toss them on the couch, the bed or the floor to spice up the décor of any room in a comfy, cuddly way. Creating your own decorative pillows is super easy, and super fun. Only basic sewing skills are required, and because you’ll be choosing your own fabric and embellishments, these pillows will be entirely customized to suit your room. Wash, dry and iron your chosen fabric according to the manufacturer’s care instructions. Fold the fabric in half, with the right sides together (the patterned side or part that will show). Measure the size and shape of your pillow, or simply free form your design. Add ¼ inch all around, and mark this using a fabric pencil. Cut the shapes out. Use straight pins to pin the fabric pieces together, with the right sides together. With a sewing machine or needle and thread, sew the edges of the fabric pieces together, creating a ¼-inch seam.
