For a very long time, I’ve been looking for a recipe to make the delicious appetizers I had at my favorite bar years ago. They were deep fried nuggets with broccoli and cheese inside and they were delicious! This is a healthier recipe as they are cooked in the oven, but you could still deep fry them for that “grease fix”. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Lightly coat a baking sheet with olive oil and set aside. Combine all ingredients but the bread crumbs and mix well. You can add seasongs if you want. Garlic powder, pepper, basil, and oregano all will work well with this dish. Shape mixture into small balls or fun shapes. Coat with the bread crumbs and place on the baking tray. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes turning the nuggets over after 15 minutes. Serve warm. You can also deep fry these nuggets in a deep fryer or a frying pan with about a cup of olive oil heated. Be sure to turn the nuggets so they don’t burn and drain on paper towels when they are finished.
