How Do You Make Delicious Homemade Biscuits?
Buying biscuits in the tube is an easy and convenient way to get the job done, but making homemade biscuits is also very easy and cheap. Biscuits can be made from simple ingredients that you might already have in your pantry. First off, measure out 2 cups of flour and 2 tsp. of baking powder. Next, sift the ingredients into a mixing bowl with a flour sifter. The next step is “cutting in” the butter (or shortening). I like to use room temperature butter because it is much easier to cut in. Take 4 tablespoons of butter and mix it in with the sifted flour and baking powder. I like to use my hands during this step. Work the butter into the flour with your fingers until the ingredients start to resemble corn meal. Make sure the mixture is an even consistency – get rid of butter lumps!
