This cranberry relish recipe uses only four ingredients: fresh cranberries, oranges, water and white sugar. To begin, thoroughly wash cranberries and oranges before use. Then, coarsely chop fresh cranberries to speed up the cooking process. Next, use a fine toothed kitchen grater to zest each medium orange. After the oranges are zested, chop each orange into smaller pieces comparable in size to your coarsely chopped cranberries. Combine chopped cranberries and oranges into a large sauce pan. Add 1/2 cup warm water. Begin heating over low to medium heat and slowly stir in the one cup of white sugar. Reduce heat to low and simmer the cranberry and orange mixture for 20 to 25 minutes.
