This chili recipe is a little different than most since it uses turkey smoked sausage links instead of ground beef or turkey. That means that this chili is low in fat compared to other recipes. Plus, with no ground meat to brown and drain, it is incredibly quick and easy to make. To make this simple chili, start by chopping your medium onion. Reserve half of the onion pieces for later. Take the other half of the chopped onion pieces and pan sauté them in butter or margarine until they are brown and translucent. Next, slice up your smoked sausage links into approximately one half inch thick slices. Next, in a large sauce pan, combine your chili ready tomatoes, drained pinto beans, sautéed onion, and turkey smoked sausage. Heat these ingredients over medium heat and gradually stir in your chili seasoning packet. Cover your sauce pan and bring this chili mixture to a boil.
