Italian food is a favorite for many, but it can add to your waistline. This pasta fagioli recipe is not only low fat and relatively easy, but delicious and satisfying. Brown the ground turkey with onion and garlic in a large pot over medium heat. Drain off most of the fat. Add remaining ingredients except pasta. Include the liquid from the canned beans and tomatoes. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. About 50 minutes into simmer time, cook the pasta in 1½-2 quarts boiling water over high heat until pasta is al dente, or slightly tough. Drain. Add the pasta to the pot of soup and simmer for 5 more minutes. Add additional water as desired.
