The best way to keep from heating up your house while cooking during the summer is to not cook in the house. Go outside and grill your food. Grills are good for more than just meat – try an outdoor take on grilled cheese by toasting bread or a bun on the grill with cheese and a tomato. Summer is the best season for trying out your local farmer’s market or co-op. You can get fresh fruits and vegetables at good prices, and experiment with nice, cool salads or kabobs on the grill. Supplement a light meal of fresh fruit with chips and dip like hummus, salsa, or guacamole. As long as you go easy on the chips, this is a very healthy solution. You can easily make your own salsa or guacamole with a food processor. Try cold soups like ga
