How Do You Make Fabulous English Toffee Candy?

I remember many times going over to my Grandmas house when I was little and helping her make English Toffee. They are so good that we would eat most of them before we shared with everyone else. This candy is delicious and very easy to make. Line the bottom of a 9×13 pan with 1 cup nuts, reserving 1 cup for the top layer. On top of nuts arrange 8 of the chocolate bars to form single layer. Cook the butter and sugar together in a heavy pan, stirring constantly until it becomes a light caramel brown, about 10-15 minutes. Pour over chocolate bars and spread evenly. Immediately lay remaining 8 bars on top and sprinkle with nuts. Cool until very hard. Break into pieces (can use grated dipping chocolate in place of bars). If you put in refrigerator, remove and let get to room temperature before breaking into pieces, this helps the layers to not separate.
