How Do You Make Glass Bead Coasters?
We’ve all seen those beautiful coasters in the stores, the ones with tight spirals of beads spinning toward the center. But why buy them when you can make your own, tailored to your unique sense of aesthetics and color? Beaded coasters are quite easy to make, requiring minimal time and effort, and the results are both practical and beautiful. Thread your needle. Measure it against the rim of your cork coaster to determine the length of string you will need. Add on an extra inch, and cut the string. Slide a bead down to the end of your string and tie a knot around it. Fill the string with beads and tie off the remaining end. Squeeze a thin layer of glue around the rim of the cork coaster, spreading it with your fingers to create an even coat. Wind the string of beads around the rim of the coaster and pin it in place.
