How Do You Make Gooney Bird Marionettes?

0

The gooney bird is a nickname for the albatross, but because of its funny name, it has been applied to a number of different goofy-looking bird puppets and stuffed animals. A gooney bird is an entertaining puppet that kids will have fun playing with. Making a gooney bird marionette is a surprisingly simple craft that kids can use to learn how to manipulate puppets. Color the Styrofoam cups and the paper plate yellow. Select one paper cup to be the head of the bird. Color the inside of this cup orange. Wrap yarn around your hand four times. Cut the end of the yarn. Pull the yarn loops off of your hand, and tie a knot in the center of them. Cut the ends of the yarn to form a pom-pom. Make a tiny hole in the bottom of the cup near the side, and push the knot of the pompom through the hole. Then glue googly eyes on either side of the cup. Take a long piece of string, and tie a knot in one end. Form another hole in the bottom of the cup on the opposite side as your first hole. Push the knot
