How Do You Make Home Brewing Equipment?

0

It’s possible to spend hundreds of dollars on brewing equipment in the belief that you get what you pay for. In this case, it’s not necessarily true. Brewing is a fun hobby that doesn’t have to cost a lot. In fact, most of the equipment needed is already in your home or easily obtainable for free. All that’s needed is a little time and creativity to turn ordinary equipment into brew friendly items. Start with a food grade bucket with a lid. Ask a local restaurant or deli if they have a four gallon sauce or pickle bucket they can give you. Clean the container thoroughly. Don’t use a container that has held anything other than food, no matter how well it’s been cleaned. Cut a hole in the lid just big enough to fit a length of food grade tubing (purchased separately) and set the lid aside. Build your own airlock using a glass jar with a lid. Cut a hole just big enough to fit the tubing. Punch additional, smaller holes around the large one. Put water in your new airlock, then screw the lid
