How Do You Make Homemade Banana Ice Cream?

0

Banana ice cream is the perfect homemade treat. The natural sweetness and creaminess of banana pairs really well with vanilla ice cream. While this recipe calls for an ice cream machine, there is a link in the Resources section below describing how to make ice cream without a machine. Peel and refrigerate bananas overnight. Warm 1 1/2 cups of whole milk in a saucepan. Dissolve 3/4 cup of sugar in the milk and chill overnight. Slit open the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the inside. Discard the pod. The scrapings on the inside will flavor the ice cream. Blend the bananas, milk, sugar, vanilla and a cup of heavy cream in a blender. Refrigerate the mix for an hour. Put the mixture into the ice cream machine and churn for half an hour or until frozen. Serve with chocolate syrup, caramel or whipped cream.
