Well you definitely can and can feed them to your family knowing there are no unhealthy additives or preservatives. Mix water and sugar in large container until dissolved. Peel your potatoes and slice them to your desired thickness. As soon as you cut them add them to your sugar water mixture and let sit for 15 minutes to an hour. Heat your oil to 375 degrees. Drain the water from your container and carefully add the fries to the oil being careful not to splash the oil. Fry for 2 minutes and remove by placing in strainer until the oil stops dripping. Put the fries back in the container and set in the freezer for 10 minutes or leave in your refrigerator to come back to later. You can keep them refrigerated and cook them the next day to save time. Heat the oil back to 375 degrees and add the fries slowly and carefully. Fry for about 10 minutes or until they appear golden brown. Turn the stove top
