Here are some easy instructions to sew a rice filled heating pad using recycled materials. First gather together your recycled materials and other supplies to make the heating pad. Then measure 8-inches up from the bottom hem of the pants you are recycling. Using your scissors or rotary cutter cut off the bottom of the pants. You should have a loop of fabric 8-inches wide. Iron it flat and measure how wide it is when flattened. Now take your recycled t-shirt. It doesn’t matter how stained it is but it should be clean and free of rips or tears. This will be the inside pouch that will hold the rice for the heating pad. Cut a piece from your t-shirt 8-inches wide by twice the length of the flattened loop from the recycled pants you all ready cut. The piece I cut off after ironing measured 8″W x
