Mix them together. Place the dough hook onto your mixer. Set the power level to 2. Add the hot water and oil to the flour. Note if making the play dough all one color, you can add the food color to the water now. Allow the dough to knead for 5-6 minutes. Add more flour if you need the playdough to be softer. If you want separate colors, wait to add the food coloring until after the play dough forms. You can then knead in the colors as you wish.
