How Do You Make Homemade Roasted Pumpkin Seeds?
In the fall roasted pumpkin seeds are a tradition in my house. After we carve Halloween pumpkins, we make roasted pumpkin seeds. There is no comparison between homemade roasted pumpkin seeds and store bought. Fresh pumpkins seeds are so much better and they are pretty easy to make. Take the seeds out of your pumpkin. Use a large spoon or your hand to pull the seeds out. Place the pumpkin seeds in a colander. Wash the excess pumpkin off of your pumpkin seeds. Toss the pumpkin seeds as you are running them under cold water. Place a few layers of paper towels or a clean dish cloth or two on a flat surface. Spread your pumpkin seeds out to allow them to dry. Pat them with a paper towel or a clean dish towel. In a large frying pan melt about 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine. Add pumpkin seeds and salt to taste. Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes while stirring constantly. Take the frying pan off of the stove and place the seeds on a large cookie sheet. You should have one even layer. Place t
