Tissue paper flowers are colorful and festive. They are great decorations for celebrations, parties and festivals. They are so easy to make that children can enjoy the craft with adult supervision. Unfold two sheets of tissue paper to full size. Cut in half lengthwise. Cut the two halves in half. You will now have eight rectangular quarter sheets. Layer the eight sheets one on top of the other in a pile as evenly as possible. Slowly fan fold the pile in 1/2- to 1-inch-wide folds. Pinch the middle between your fingers. Take an 18-inch piece of florist wire or a chenille stem and wrap it tightly around the center. Twist the wire to secure the bundle. Cut the ends in a curved or rounded shape. This gives shape to the flower and will make it look like a peony. Carefully pull the layers apart, starting with the center and working your way through to the outside of the shape.
