Macramé necklaces are knotted necklaces, and the advanced form of macramé is known as micro macramé. Micro macramé is nothing more than macramé made from extremely fine materials, usually under 2mm thick. It is considered advanced because it is much more difficult to work with and control such thin materials. If you want to make a micro macramé bead necklace, though, you can do so with the appropriate process and knotting techniques. Measure three strands of micro cord approximately 8 to 12 inches long and cut them appropriately with the scissors. Even up the strands, and then bend the strands in half and tie them into an overhand knot so that you create a loop at the end. Six strands should be beneath the knot (because you folded the strands in half). Create a square knot by placing one right-hand strand over the center strands and under one of the left-hand strands to create loop.
