How Do You Make Miniatures At Home?
Making your own miniatures is fun and easy. There is no reason to spend outrageous amounts of money on miniatures when many can be made at home. While some miniatures such as period pieces may be too complicated to make yourself, save your money for these big purchases by making easier accessories and items. Wood and Other Materials Step 1 Decide what type of miniatures you are looking to make. Examples include a bed, table, sofa, desk and chairs. Step 2 Draw out your design complete with measurements to scale, according to the scale of your dollhouse or project. Step 3 Cut out any pieces you need from your balsa wood or craft foam board. Cut the dowels you need or pieces of Popsicle sticks or toothpicks. Step 4 Sand all of your wooden pieces. Step 5 Stain or paint your wooden pieces. Let them sit until they are completely dry.
