How Do You Make Moss Clay Pots?

0

Adding moss to terra cotta clay pots gives them an aged patina. In an afternoon’s time you can add the look of years to your pots. Filled with real or artificial plants they will provide an appealing texture to your décor. Protect your work surface with several layers of newspaper or an old vinyl table cloth. Spray the interior of the pot with spray acrylic if the pot will be used for live plants. This will keep the moisture from seeping through the pot and causing moss to fall off. Apply more than one coat if desired, allowing to dry in between. Squirt some glue onto a disposable plate and add a little water to dilute to a paintable consistency. Paint diluted glue onto the exterior surface of pot with a foam brush. Apply sheet moss to the glue, overlapping and tearing as necessary to completely cover the pot. Spray a light coat of acrylic on the moss after the glue has dried to affix.
