Step 1 Slice up a all the cloves of a large garlic bulb. Step 2 Slice up a large root of ginger. Step 3 Add some of the garlic slices to the bottom of the jar, covering the bottom. Step 4 Add some of the ginger slices to the jar, covering the layer of garlic. Step 5 Pour sugar into the jar, make sure it covers the last layer completely. Step 6 Repeat the layers of garlic, ginger and sugar. Continue the layers until you get about to the top of the jar, end with the layer of sugar.
