How Do You Make Natural Mosquito Repellant Using Essential Oils?
Mosquito bites are itchy, uncomfortable, and pose the risk of a West Nile Virus infection. To protect yourself from mosquitoes you should apply mosquito repellant, but not everyone wants to use chemical-based mosquito repellants. There are several natural mosquito repellants available for sale, or you can save money and easily make your own natural mosquito repellant at home using natural essential oils. Fill a spray bottle with one cup of grain alcohol (190 proof), which is available in liquor stores. Do not use rubbing alcohol because it will dry your skin out. If you prefer a moisturizing mosquito repellant, use a carrier oil such as almond oil, safflower oil or coconut oil; or you can use a combination of a carrier oil and grain alcohol. Add 2 ½ teaspoons of essential oils to the spray bottle. You can use a combination of any of the following essential oils: cedarwood, citronella, basil, juniper, rosemary, rose geranium, lemon, myrrh, palmarosa, eucalyptus, pine, thyme, sage, fenne
