You can make a noisemaker out of beans and foam cups. Shake the cup to make the beans rattle. Different sized beans make different noises. The speed at which you shake the cup also affects how it sounds. Foam cup noisemakers last awhile if taken care of properly. Avoid poking holes or squishing the cups to keep them in good shape. Decorate the noisemakers to fit any occasion. For example, for a New Year’s Eve party, decorate them with gold and silver ribbons. Put a handful of beans in a foam cup. Set it on a flat surface. Set another cup upside down so it sits on top of the first one. The lips of both cups should touch. Tape together with masking tape. Wrap the tape where the cups meet. Apply at least two layers. Use markers, glue, ribbon and sequins to decorate the outside of the cups. Let the glue dry completely before using. Color the masking tape or wrap a ribbon around it to hide.
