Wait! Don’t throw out those old Christmas and birthday cards. For 3 generations my family has been making beautiful Valentines from old cards. From Texas to Canada, parents have called to say that our Valentine was too beautiful to throw out. Our Valentines have become special mementos for my children’s classmates. Using red, pink and white construction or card stock paper, cut out large hearts. Take one of the paper hearts and run a line of glue around the edge of the heart. You’ll want the glue/paste to be about 1/4 of an inch from the edge of the paper. This will be the back of the Valentine. Choose a complimentary color of the crepe paper, and begin sticking and pinching the crepe paper to the edge of the heart. You’ll want about 3/4 of the crepe paper hanging over the paper heart so that the crepe paper makes a paper ruffle on the Valentine. The photo will help to visualize what you are attempting to do. Allow the glue to dry completely before decorating the heart. It is now time
