How Do You Make Pancakes From Scratch (Easy)?
Making your own pancakes from scratch is fairly easy. It only requires a few more steps than making them from the box, so why not? When you make them from scratch you get to control the quality and quantity of ingredients. Not to mention, it is more economical and they taste better! Heat a griddle or skillet on medium to medium-high heat. Grease lightly with butter. (If you are using a nonstick griddle or skillet there is no need to grease it.) In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. Add the milk, egg and melted butter and stir until smooth or most of the lumps are gone. Using a measuring cup or large serving spoon, scoop and pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Turn the pancake over when the batter starts to bubble in the center and the edges are slightly browned. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until this side is browned also. Serve hot and enjoy with maple syrup!
