How Do You Make Paper Hats For A Crown Roast?
As you prepare a delectable crown roast for a special dinner, do not neglect the final presentation of your roast. Protect the rib bones that extend out of the roast and give your crown roast a beautiful finishing touch by adding paper hats (bone booties) to the tops of the rib bones. Often a helpful butcher will give you bone booties when you purchase your crown roast; however, you can also make your own using plain white paper instead. Draw a 3.5 by 11-inch rectangle onto the white paper. Cut out the rectangle with the scissors. Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise but do not crease the fold. Grasp the folded rectangle on the long cut edges and make slits along the entire folded edge of the paper with the scissors. Space the slits ΒΌ-inch apart and make the slits approximately 1 inch long into the folded paper. Fold the cut edges of the folded rectangle up 1/2-inch and crease this fold.
