We have all heard the famous muttered words, “Mom, I’m bored!” Here is a quick and easy recipe for a boredom buster that will occupy your child’s time for a few hours. The best part is that you more than likely have everything sitting in your kitchen cupboard right now! Measure out water, flour, salt, cream of tartar and vegetable oil into a heavy, medium size sauce pan. Over low heat, stir the mixture contentiously using a wooden spoon until it begins to thicken and pull away from the sides of the sauce pan. Remove the mixture from the burner and add peppermint extract and mix thoroughly. Heavily flour a counter top and spread mixture out to knead. The mixture will be moderately gooey until you knead the flour into it. As you add flour a small amount at a time and knead the mixture, it will take on the continence of a firmer ball and hold it’s shape. Add your glitter if desired and knead into the dough.
