For this project plain brass napkin rings were used but you can choose any plain napkin ring as the base. Find distinctive buttons to assign to each member of your family. It’s a good idea to get them all about the same size. You will need about 6 inches of stretchable cord for each napkin ring. Thread about six inches of stretchable cord through the hole on the back of the button. Gold cord was used for this project, to match the gold color of the brass napkin rings. Center the button on the front of the napkin ring. Pull both ends of the cord around to the back and then to the front, tying it securely on one side of the button.
