Whether it is for a holiday, birthday or another celebration, a pinata can become the focus and most memorable part of a party. Children love to bust open a pinata to find candy, goodies and even small toys inside. Instead of paying for a pre-made pinata, you can easily create a pinata at home with cheap supplies. Blow up a balloon until it is a little smaller than a basketball. Set it aside. Prepare the paper mache mix by putting 2 cups of water and 1 cup of flour into a mixing bowl. Mix the ingredients until they are blended well. Do not do this too far in advance or the mixture will become solid. Cut strips of paper about 3 inches long and 2 inches thick. Lay out a large sheet of paper on a kitchen table and set the balloon on it. Dip the strips of newspaper into the paper mache mix and layer them over the balloon.
