Polar fleece makes warm soft socks for the entire family. With simple measurements, only a few pieces to sew together and basic sewing skills, this can be an afternoon project. With adult supervision, this is also a good beginner project for kids. Polar fleece is extremely lightweight, wicks away moisture and is easy to care for. It can be machine-washed and dried and resists pilling, keeping it new looking longer. Trace the outline of your foot directly on the polar fleece or on paper for the bottom piece of the sock. Add 1 inch all the way around the pattern. Curve the back of the piece to match the curve of the heel and curve the front, matching the arc of the toes. Cut two pieces.
