How Do You Make Salt Dough Xmas Ornaments?

Looking for a fun, easy craft to make with the kids? Presents for grandparents? Salt dough ornaments are easy to make and all round great family fun! Mix flour and salt together. Add water and food coloring, mix until well combined. Form mixture into a ball and knead very well for 5-10 minutes until smooth. For best results don’t skimp on this step, the ornaments will come out better with lots of kneading! Not enough kneading can lead to a brittle ornament. If you do not plan to bake it right away be sure to put the dough in a Ziploc bag to ensure that it does not dry out. Roll out the dough and use Christmas shaped cookie cutters, to cut out the ornaments. Depending on the size of the cookie cutters you can make a lot of ornaments (40-50). Remember to make a hole at the top for stringing ribbon. Use your child’s hand or feet to make an imprint on the ornament for a cute grandparent gift. Bake on a low oven setting, 250 degrees for about 2-2 1/2 hours or until the ornaments appear dry
