Sports events are often important to those who play in them. One way to acknowledge an important event in someone’s life is to make a shadow box about that sport or a particular game. Putting together a sports shadow box isn’t difficult, but there are a few helpful pointers to ensure success. Collect the items to use inside the shadow box. Smaller items work best, such as scorecards, brochures, balls, mouth guards, hats and ticket stubs. Larger items, such as baseball gloves, bats or shoes are best left outside the box. Arrange the items in an attractive presentation. Place heavier items at the base, with lighter items behind and above the heavy items. Purchase a shadow box large enough and deep enough to hold your items. Remove the back piece from the shadow box. Cut a piece of foam board slightly smaller than the back of the shadow box.
