How Do You Make Spicy Apple Butter Bread?

0

This easy-to-prepare quick bread makes your kitchen smell wonderful while baking and is the perfect bread to serve with roast pork. Leftover spicy apple butter bread is also very tasty when toasted and served with – what else? – apple butter! Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9″x5″ loaf pan and set aside. In a mixing bowl combine vegetable oil, brown sugar and honey. Stir in the slightly beaten egg and apple butter. In a separate bowl sift together the remaining ingredients (the whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, allspice, ground cloves and ground ginger), except for the walnuts. Stir dry ingredients into moist ingredients, just until blended. Do not overmix. Add walnuts if desired. (Chopped pecans may be substituted for the walnuts.) Spoon into prepared loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
