How Do You Make Spicy Boiled Peanuts?
Adding spicy peppers to boiled peanuts give them a great kick and flavor. Rinse peanuts well to remove excess dirt. Sort through the peanuts to remove any that appear to be bad. Cut peppers into 1/2 inch pieces. Wear gloves while doing this step because the oils from the peppers can irritate your skin and eyes (if you happen to rub them). Place peppers (including seeds), peanuts, and salt into the crock pot or stockpot. Cover completely with water. If you are cooking the peanuts in the stockpot, cook them on medium-low for about 4 hours. After 4 hours, test the peanuts to see if they are done. If they are not, cook longer and check at 30 minute to 1 hour intervals. If you are cooking the peanuts in a crock pot, cook them on low heat for at least 24 hours. They may take longer depending upon how dry they were when you started to cook them.
