How Do You Make Stained Glass Patterns?

0

As a novice or experienced stained glass project maker, it is important to have patterns that fit your personal style. It may be hard for you to find new and different patterns for projects you want to make, so make stained glass patterns that reflect your favorite forms. Make a line drawing of the objects you want in your stained glass project pattern with pencil. Trace over the final drawing with a thick tip black marker. Lay a piece of Mylar over the pattern sheet and trace the pattern with a thick tip marker. Photocopy one sheet of the black and white pattern onto card stock. Color your pattern sheet on card stock with colored pencils or art markers. This will be your color guide pattern. Print the names of the colors on each segment of the pattern on the Mylar sheet to match the color guide. Cut out the segments from the Mylar. These are the glass cutting templates for your stained glass pattern.
