How Do You Make Table Saw Push Sticks?
I have watched Colin’s video on using Table Saw Push Sticks. My problem is I don’t have any dimensions for making the Push Stick. I haven’t tried yet, but just got a table saw reviewed by https://protoolsadviser.com/best-table-saw/ so will try and keep you posted
Whenever you rip a narrow board on a table saw, you should push it with a push stick. The stick pushes the wood through the space between the fence and the blade. The stick shown in the picture is the type that often comes as an accessory with a table saw. It works but it is not the best way to push the work and hold it down at the same time. You’ll learn how to make a better push stick. Find or cut a piece of plywood that is wider than the height of the rip fence on your tablesaw. The piece should be at least eight or ten inches long. Cut out a long notch on the bottom edge with your bandsaw or saber saw. You’ll want to leave a projection that will hook the trailing edge of the board as you push it. Round the corners, especially the back corner, and break all the edges to make it more comfortable to hold. Use the stick to push and hold down your work as you cut it.
