Teriyaki steak kebabs are a delicious part of an international Christmas menu in our family. Served over a bed of steamed rice, these mouthwatering treats bring a little July into Christmas. Slice sirloin tip roast into 1-inch thick steaks, then slice each steak into strips about one inch wide. If you are using tofu instead of beef, cut tofu into 1-inch chunks. Place steak strips in one gallon size plastic zipper bag. Prepare all marinade ingredients in large mixing bowl and pour into bag over the meat. Zip bag closed. Refrigerate 6 to 8 hours, turning bag over every hour or so to evenly distribute the marinade. Make a separate batch of marinade for the vegetables if you want your kebabs to be especially flavorful. Pour marinade into saucepan after eight hours. Thread steak strips onto skewer ribbon style, putting a tomato, mushroom, bell pepper, yellow and green squash chunk, or onion chunk between each fold of the steak strip on the skewer.
