Pinatas are a popular and traditional game at parties. They can be made to look like almost anything, so it’s possible to make a pinata for every theme. Crafting your own pinata helps you save money and customize the pinata as you see fit. Stuff it with anything from candy to stickers, healthy snacks and small toys. Tear a newspaper into 1-inch strips. Blow up a balloon and tie the end in a knot then set aside. The size of the balloon depends on the size of the pinata you’d like, so choose size accordingly. Combine 1 part water and 2 parts flour in a mixing bowl. Mix well. Dip a newspaper strip in the water and flour combo. Place the damp strip on the balloon. Cover the balloon completely with damp newspaper strips. Leave a small section–a couple inches wide–uncovered. Set the balloon aside to dry.
