As a parent of a baby that has reflux it is often overwhelming and very frustrating. Not knowing how to help your little one can be very upsetting. I have found some ways that helped minimize my son’s reflux. I will explain the steps I took that helped my son. To help minimize reflux in a baby, the first step is to feed baby more often with less amounts. For instance, if your baby is eating about 6 ounces every 3-4 hours try feeding him/her about 3 ounces every 2 hours. If you are nursing, cut the nursing time in half and feed baby more frequent. The second step is to burp the baby in the middle of the feedings. Set the baby upright and make sure you get a good burp or two before you continue feeding the baby. Third, make sure you keep the baby in the upright position for at least 30 minutes to an hour after each feeding. Try not to put the baby in any kind of play gym that will press on his/her belly.
