How Do You Mount A Veterans Memorial Plaque?
Arranging a veteran’s medals, ribbons and other decorations on a memorial plaque honors that veteran’s service and duty to his country. Once you’ve placed all of the appropriate pieces on the plaque, the piece should be hung for display. Most plaques, or shadow boxes, are not heavy and do not require any special anchors or attachments to the wall. Just a few household tools will get your memorial plaque mounted where everyone can see it. Find the stud (wood support beam) in the wall that you have chosen to hang the plaque. It’s best, if possible, to hang the plaque on a stud for extra support. Knock on the walls to find the stud (a hollow sounding knock is the space between the studs; a solid, hard knock is the stud).
