How Do You Move An Upright Freezer?

It’s moving day and you’re taking the freezer with you. Moving a bulky freezer can be awkward, but with these few steps you can be sure your freezer will arrive at its destiny safely and in the same working condition as when it left. Remove any glass shelving from the freezer. Unplug the freezer and slide the metal plate of the appliance dolly under the freezer from the side. Wrap the straps around the freezer and tighten. Tip the dolly and freezer carefully to transport and load onto the moving truck. Set the freezer upright in the truck. If it must be placed on its side, the hinges should be at the top to keep the door from opening during transport. The freezer will need to sit upright for 24 hours after transport and before plugging it in again. This will allow the coolant to settle back down into the compressor.
