How Do You Multiply & Divide With Exponents?
Working with numbers (and variables) with exponents can be a bit challenging. However, once you understand the definition and rules of exponents, it gets much simpler. When multiplying and dividing with exponents, the two primary rules you need to use are the product rule and the quotient rule. These are derived from the definition of exponents, which states that the power of a number signifies how many times that number (the base number) is multiplied by itself. The product and quotient rules then tell us that we can add or subtract the exponents from similar base numbers. Analyze the problem.
